- Bowling Tournament for Government / Private Agencies and Local Authorities Throughout Malaysia (March 2010)
Kota Kinabalu City Hall will be organizing a Bowling Tournament on 4, 5 and 7 March 2010 at CPS Bowl of Centre Point Sabah. This bowling tournament is open to all government and private agencies as well as Local Authorities throughout Malaysia. The tournament will be divided into team, trio, double and single open categories. This tournament is to promote bowling as a recreational activity and encourage participation from other Local Authorities. - Chinese and Islamic Calligraphy Exhibition (01 - 25 March 2010)
Sabah has a small population of Chinese and Arabic calligraphers. In this rare exhibition, you can view more than fifty pieces of their works. As in the past, the two systems of calligraphies displayed here show fascinating development as local scenes and environment are incorporated to create a unique local feature and identity.
- Sabah Cultural Hot Spot (06 March - 04 December 2010)
Held for the the third consecutive year, the National Department for Culture and Arts, Sabah will be organising an event entitled "Sabah Culture Hot Spot" on the first Saturday of every month throughout 2010. The event will kick off on 6 March onwards highlights will be showcased. This platform for local artisans aims to preserve the local cultural heritage, while creating appreciation and understanding amongst the multifarious races through a variety of activities. Visitors can observe the handicraft and cooking demonstration or participate in traditional games and sports such as ma-ma-ram-panau (walking on bamboo-stilts) and mimpulos (arm wrestling) and learn how to handle ancient hunting tools such as sumpit (blowpipe) and lastik (sling shot). Is it an event for the entire family as children will enjoy the clown show and sand castle building contests.
- Pesta Eko Daing Sulaman / Sulaman Fish Season Festival (11 - 14 March 2010)
This is a thanksgiving celebration by fishermen for the bountiful catch during the fishing season (usually from February to June). Traditional sports, fishing competitions and cultural shows are among the activities lined up for the event for a fun-filled day on the Lok Nunuk Dantai beach in Tuaran.
- ‘Hajj’ the Fifth Pillar of Islam (13 March - 13 June 2010)
The "hajj" is one of the five pillars of Islam. Every Muslim is encouraged to fulfill the ‘hajj' in Mecca although it is not compulsory. Attending ‘hajj' is considered to be one of the most important achievements for every Muslims. It is done once in a lifetime for the average Muslim, while others may do it a couple of times. To depict its importance and significance a special exhibition is showcased at the Sabah Islamic Civilisation Museum at the Sabah Museum Complex.
- PADI CDTC (Course Director Training Course) (14 - 25 March 2010)
The PADI Course Director is the highest teaching status a PADI Master Instructor can attain. For the 11th consecutive year, the PADI Organisation conducts its biannual Trainer Course (Course Directors) in Kota Kinabalu.
- Manufacturing Sabah 2010 (18 - 21 March 2010)
Organised by Inter-Exhibitions Management Services (IMS), Manufacturing Sabah 2010 features various aspects of the manufacturing industry including machinery, tools and industrial automation.
